The Genetics, Imaging & Fruit fly for Teachers (GIFT) is a one-week workshop for high school teachers as part of Mo’s NSF CAREER award. It aims to enhance teachers’ theoretical and practical knowledge in genetics, cell and developmental Biology. One of the workshop highlights is the collaboration with Dr. Dunkelberger, a CCSD teacher and Ph.D graduate of UNLV. Dr. Dunkelberger has successfully implemented curriculums involving hands-on experiments using the classic model organism Drosophila in high school classroom. We hope to spread such resources among CCSD schools!
